I am 22 years old and am joining the military and need to pay bills. I do not want to fall depper into debt while I am going through boot camp and trying to serve the country.

 If anyone has information on personal grants it would be greatly apprecated.

I am a 53 year old woman who is in search of a personal grant for several reasons (medical, dental, go back to school, on and on).  I have visited a lot of websites and even ones mentioned here.  Some websites asks for payment and others I don't qualify for.

I am currently living with my daughter's father, but not for long.  I will need a place to stay for the both of us as well as get some type of job training (I haven't gone back to work since she was born).  I have looked and applied for jobs but to no avail.  I would very much love to start my own business, but I'm not sure in what field yet.

Just to get the ball rolling, I was thinking somewhere in the $4000-5000 department, so I can get a car that wont die on me in a week, like this last one did. Car Insurance so I can drive it. The rest would go to food, and GED, and clothes for a job, and supplies to start college (though im sure I can get a grant to pay for the text books, Id need pens, notebooks, etc...). And enough to feed my kids til my first paycheck. Paying back would come when I found a job-no matter what it pays-and I would figure out a weekly or bi-weekly payment plan depending on my wage. If need be I would even sign some sort of contract, to show Im not trying to rip anyone off.

Just because your soon to be ex gives up parental rights , that does not mean that he can give up responsibility for paying spousal/and or child support. He still has to be responsible for his family. Don't let him get away with being a dead beat dad !

Also , if you go to your local community college , they will help you with a GED and with re-structuring your life . There are usually counselors that can help with both. Many community colleges also have active women's support groups that will also be great for you.

You could also try the local YWCA , and Goodwill ( also helps with GED and jobs) .

Just some ideas that may help you to start in a good direction.

You have to have a basic understanding about grants. You can't get a grant for a car "to help your kids stay cool" however you can get a grant to be able to qualify for a low interest loan if you need a car to continue to work. Now of course there is an exception to every rule and there are grant programs out there that I classify as "blind" grants. That is when you can use your grant award money for anything you want including buying a car or paying off bills. There are quite a few of these kind of grant programs out ther but they do come with their own eligibility requirements. But if you think you can qualify for them then you should definitely check them out.

Call your nearest social services agency and see what grant programs are available for you. Ask them to either mail or fax you a copy of these grant applications. As far as opening your own business you will have to do more than just submit a grant application. Grant programs that have to do with people who are looking for money to start their own business require that you submit a business plan - that shows that you are serious about what it is you want to do. You can get copies of business plans online, at your local library or bookstore.

I am writing hoping to get help somehow somewhere. My grandfather is 75 years old and lives from paycheck to paycheck with barely enough food to last from day to day, 4 of us live in this house I'm 31 and I have been layed off from work since october of 2006, my mom who is on disability and my girlfriend who works but makes very little. You may think its a gold mine but you are going to have to convince those who you want to give you money that it is a gold mine! Now as I deal with mostly grant work I can tell you that there are a lot of grant programs out there for people that want to start their own business. I list 2 such grant programs on my page - one is for a $20,000.00 grant and the other is for a $100,000 grant. You are gong to have to provide some sort of business plan - at the very least - because people are going to want to see the "nuts and bolts" of your business written down on paper. Contrary to popular belief there are still many investors out there willing to invest their money in ventures that they think are promising - and that is what you have to do - show them how promising your idea is!

I would like to recieve applications for a grant. I would like to recieve some that I don't have to pay an arm or a leg for it. My legs aren't that great and well i need my hands. I seriously doubt that there isn't a grant program that you don't qualify or aren't eligible for. While the government has a lot of grant programs there are also other entities that have grant programs - like foundations and other organizations. You should go to your nearest social service agency to find out what programs they have available for you.

I am in need of any personal needs grant or loans that could be paid back (slowly). We have awful credit and do not qualify for anything. Three sweet girls, but I have past my breaking point.
